Lovely Bar-tailed Godwit / Kuaka pin in Hard Enamel designed by me.

These amazing Kuaka Godwits migrate between Alaska and Aotearoa New Zealand every year. From Alaska to NZ it’s an 11,000 kilometre journey across the Pacific Ocean – the longest non-stop flight of any land bird it generally takes 8 to 9 days.

They spend the Spring/Summer here around harbours and in estuaries, including here at Pūkorokoro, before heading back for summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

The pin is approximately 4.5cm wide and 3cm high and packaged on an illustrated backing card with two rubber back fixing.
