Description
Spiral shell earrings from Rimu wood. The studs are laser cut in our own spiral shell design and are hand painted in white. Posts are surgical steel (nickel free – good for sensitive ears) and they are approx. 15mm across.
The spiral shells are the internal shells of the Ram’s Horn Squid (Spirula spirula) and are a buoyancy organ of the Squid, helping it to keep it’s head down and it’s body vertical. The shells wash up on beaches all over the world but the Squid typically live in the depths of the ocean.
While the earrings are finished with beeswax they are not designed to be worn swimming or in the shower.
